Every service and warranty job begins with a service request. It gives our technicians what they need to work out the right fix the first time.
Check for a quick fix
Most issues are sorted in minutes. Try the fix finder first.
Lodge a service request
Tell us what’s happening and attach a photo or video. It takes about five minutes.
A technician reviews it
A technician typically responds the same business day. They’ll confirm the next step with you: a replacement part, a dealer or a repair.
Local to the Gold Coast? You can drop your bike at our Burleigh Heads showroom, 67 Dover Drive. Lodge your service request first so we’re ready for it. Workshop jobs typically take 2–5 days, first in, first served.

| Code | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Normal | No fault. Your system is reporting normally. |
| 03 (!) | Brake signal | The (!) icon means an e-brake sensor is active and cutting motor power. Release both levers fully. If the icon stays on, the sensor may need adjusting. |
| 04H | Throttle stuck on | Stop riding. Check the throttle and its connections. If it’s damaged, don’t use it until it’s replaced. |
| 06H | Low voltage protection | The battery is too low to run the motor. Charge it fully. |
| 08H | Motor hall sensor | Check the motor core, cable and connections. If it stays on, lodge a service request. |
| 09H | Motor phase power | Check the motor phase wire connections are firmly plugged in. |
| 10H | Controller overheat | Stop and switch off. Let it cool, then restart after 15 minutes. |
| 11H | Motor overheat | Stop and switch off. Let it cool, then restart after 15 minutes. |
| 21H | Speed sensor | Check all connections, the motor and the cadence speed sensor. |
| 22H | BMS communication | Check the battery cable connections. If it stays on, lodge a service request. |
| 23H | Headlight | Check the headlight cable at the lower plug near the front fender. |
| 27H | Controller overcurrent protection | This needs a technician. Lodge a service request. |
| 30H | Communication | Check the connections at the handlebars from the display. If it continues, the controller or display needs a technician. |
| 60H | Controller fault | Check the plugs between the two controllers. |
Battery & charging
Look after your battery and it looks after you. Charge it at least once a month, even when you’re not riding.
Battery dropped suddenly? It’s probably voltage sag.
Hard riding dips the battery’s voltage for a moment, so the display can read 20% when there’s really 60% left. It’s normal, and the reading recovers once you ease off.
Why it happens and how to check your real level
Your display works out battery level and range from the battery’s voltage and how you’ve been riding. When the motor works hard, like on a steep climb, at full power or on a quick take-off, the voltage dips. The display reads that dip as less charge. Ease off, or stop for a minute, and the voltage recovers. This is normal for anything battery powered and doesn’t mean your battery is faulty.
- Stop and switch the bike off.
- Wait a minute or two.
- Switch it back on and read the level before you ride off.
Still low after resting? Soft tyres and cold weather cut range too.
Cruising on the flat. The display reads close to the real charge.
Real charge in the battery the whole time: about 60%
Charging
- Recharge at around 20%. Don’t run it to empty.
- Let the battery cool after a ride before charging.
- Plug the charger into the battery first, then the wall. Red means charging, green means full.
- Charge on a hard, dry surface. Never overnight or unattended.
- Only use the genuine charger supplied.
Storage
- Store it somewhere cool, dry and secure, away from anything flammable.
- Keep it out of direct sun and hot cars.
- Switch it off at the master switch when stored.
- Top it up every month. A battery left flat for months can go completely dead.
Handling
- Keep it away from water. Never hose the bike.
- Avoid heavy vibration and drops.
- Check the contacts regularly for damage or burn marks.
- Never open, modify or repair the battery yourself.
Stop using it if…
The battery overheats, smells, leaks, swells, or changes colour or shape. Switch it off, move it away from anything that can catch fire and lodge a service request. Never put a lithium battery in general waste; take it to a battery recycling point.
Your bike’s controls
Displays, Hill Boost and GO App support differ by model. Pick yours for the quick reference.
Looking after your bike
Keeping up the schedule keeps your warranty valid and your bike safe. Tick items off as you go; your ticks are saved on this device.
- Week 1
Ride at PAS 1–2 somewhere quiet. Learn your brakes, gears and Hill Boost.
- Weeks 2–4
Do your first monthly check. New cables and bolts settle, so give everything a once-over.
- Something not right?
Tell us before it turns into a bad day. Lodge a service request, or email info@ampdbros.com with feedback.

For online support requests, a technician typically responds the same business day.
If your bike comes into our workshop for a physical service or repair, jobs typically take 2–5 days depending on how busy we are, handled first in, first served.
Can I drop my bike off in person?Warranty & service
Yes, at our Burleigh Heads showroom, 67 Dover Drive. Lodge a service request first so we’re ready for your bike, then call us to arrange a time.
What isn’t covered by warranty?Warranty & service
- Misuse, including freestyle riding
- Skipping regular maintenance
- Water damage, storms or floods
- Incorrect fitting or assembly
- General wear and tear, such as worn tyres
- Tampering or modification
- Anyone other than the original purchaser

Where is my serial number?Warranty & service
It’s stamped on the headpost, the head tube behind the headlight. Take a photo of it and record it in the back of your owner’s manual. Police will ask for it if your bike is ever stolen.
Can my local bike shop service my bike?Warranty & service
For general servicing, yes. Any qualified bike technician can work on your bike, and our dealers know the range well. Keep your receipts and fill in the service log. For warranty work, lodge a service request first so we can direct you to the right place.
Are e-bikes legal in Australia?Riding & legal
Yes. Where you can ride depends on the bike. To ride on public roads and paths, an e-bike must:
- Be pedal-assisted, so the motor only helps while you pedal
- Only use a throttle up to 6 km/h without pedalling
- Have a maximum continuous output of 250W (some states, such as NSW, allow more for certain classes)
- Stop assisting above 25 km/h
- Follow the road rules, including wearing a helmet
Bikes outside these limits are for private property only. Rules vary by state, so check with your local road authority.
Can I add a throttle to my bike?Riding & legal
Yes. On an EN 15194 road-compliant e-bike, a throttle can assist up to 6 km/h without pedalling. If a throttle lets the bike go faster than that without pedalling, it becomes an off-road device for private property only.
Throttle kits are available as accessories.
What’s the difference between an e-bike and an e-motorcycle?Riding & legal
An e-bike is a pedal-assisted bicycle: you pedal and the motor helps, typically up to 25 km/h and 250W. An e-motorcycle runs on throttle alone with no pedalling, so it’s legally a motor vehicle that needs registration and a licence.
We treat high-powered and throttle-only models as off-road, private property products. They shouldn’t be ridden by children under 16 without supervision.
Is there a minimum rider age?Riding & legal
Age rules vary by state, and some require riders to be 16 or older. Whatever your local rules, we strongly recommend any rider under 16 is supervised by an adult. Always wear a helmet.
Can I carry a passenger?Riding & legal
Only in states that allow it, on a bike designed to carry one, and within its maximum load (typically 120 kg). Check with your local authority if you’re unsure.
What do X and S mean in model names?Riding & legal
X models have a step-over crossbar frame. S models have a step-through frame.
How long does a full charge take?Battery & charging
Several hours. The charger light shows red while charging and turns green when the battery is full. Unplug it once it’s green.
Can I charge overnight?Battery & charging
No. Never leave the battery charging overnight or unattended. Charge on a hard, dry surface away from anything flammable, and only use the genuine charger supplied.
How should I store my battery?Battery & charging
Somewhere cool, dry and secure, switched off at the master switch and out of direct sun. Charge it at least once a month, even if you’re not riding. A battery left flat for months can go completely dead.
Why did my battery level drop suddenly, then come back?Battery & charging
That’s voltage sag, and it’s normal. Your display estimates battery level and range from the battery’s voltage and how you’ve been riding. Hard work like a steep climb or full power dips the voltage for a moment, so the display can show 20% when there’s really 60% left.
Stop, switch the bike off for a minute, then switch it back on. The reading returns to the real level. See how it works.
Why is my range dropping?Battery & charging
First, rule out voltage sag: rest the bike for a minute, switch it back on and read the level again. If it’s still low, the most common cause is soft tyres, so keep them at 25–28 psi. Cold weather and higher assist levels also reduce range, and the estimated km changes as your riding changes. If the level jumps around or the display flickers, re-seat the battery.
Which bikes work with the GO App?GO App
The ACE Series 5 Adventure, Pro and Demon, and the Taipan. The ACE Series 5 Mini works with it when optioned with App Connect.
Can my older ACE be upgraded for the app?GO App
No. Older ACE generations use a different battery, controller, display software and wiring, so they can’t be updated for app compatibility.
Is there a fee for app connectivity?GO App
Two years of connectivity is included free with your bike. After that, it’s a yearly fee from us, or you can use your own provider. Live tracking needs a SIM card with a paid mobile service, and we keep the fee as low as we can.
Is remote lock enough to secure my bike?GO App
No. Always use a quality physical lock when you leave your bike.
Does my bike come assembled?Setup & care
Delivered bikes arrive boxed and about 80% assembled. You’ll fit the front wheel, handlebars and pedals, then charge the battery. Every step is filmed on our tutorials page.
Not confident? A local bike shop or one of our dealers can assemble it, and bikes bought at our Burleigh Heads showroom can be assembled for a fee.
What comes in the box?Setup & care
- Your bike, battery and charger (Australian plug)
- Headlight and pedals
- Two keys
- Tool kit and starter bag, plus a suspension tool on applicable models
- Owner’s manual with links to videos
- Mudguards, carry bag and tyre pump on applicable models
Missing something? Call us before you start assembling.
What tyre pressure should I run?Setup & care
25–28 psi for 20 x 4.0", 26 x 4.0" and 26 x 3.0" tyres. Never exceed the maximum printed on your sidewall.
Can I hose my bike?Setup & care
No. Remove the battery, wipe the bike down with a damp cloth and keep water away from the battery, display, controller and motor. Let it dry fully before riding.
Why do my new brakes squeal?Setup & care
A little squeal is normal on a new bike and settles as the pads bed in. If the pads drag on the disc, they may need adjusting or replacing.
Which kids e-bikes do you make?Kids bikes
The Lil Rippa 16" for ages 5–6 and up, and the EVO Racing in 18" (5 and up) and 20" (about 6–7 and up). See your bike’s controls for specs and manuals.
Can I limit my child’s speed?Kids bikes
Yes. The Lil Rippa has a parental speed restrictor, so you can start slow and increase performance as your child’s confidence grows. The EVO Racing has three speed modes: Eco, Low and Sport.
Where can kids ride them?Kids bikes
Our kids bikes are built for off-road riding on private property. Check with your state authority before riding anywhere else, and always supervise riders under 16.
